create a unique piece

Initial consultation

My initial consultations are fairly relaxed with a coffee and a chat at my studio.  The idea at this point is to get a general sense of what you are after, what you like, what you don't like, what your budget is and also to show you examples of my work.

The design process

Following your initial consultation I prepare a range of hand-drawn design sketches.  At this stage they are very open to interperetation.  You may fall in love straight away or more discussion may be required to re-work the design to your needs. Once you have settled on a design,  I am able to work with you to source and select the perfect stone, whether it be a flawless diamond or something a bit more unusual.  So exciting!

The make

Once we've agreed on all the details, I knuckle down in the studio to handmake your piece.   You're more than welcome to visit it along the way as often my clients find it quite interesting to see the work as it progresses.   The make can take up to six weeks depending on the complexity of your design. When finished it is handed to the wearer and I'm sad to see it go!

Get hands-on

Once a month, I host A Day in the Workshop- an opportunity for one couple to have a private lesson in the workshop. The day is spent sawing, hammering, soldering and polishing, ultimately creating a pair of wedding rings of your own design.

At a meeting prior to the date we can discuss the details- what would you like your rings to look like? Do they need to compliment your engagement ring? Silver, gold or platinum? That leaves the day free to get hands-on and learn the skills of the jeweller!

You needn't have any experience- but you'll leave with rings that are both professional and unique.

Cost is $660 for the day’s tuition for two, plus materials costs depending on the design of your rings.
